Under 12s B

Manager ASHLEE VASSELL and assistant manager LIAN MORGAN have laid the foundations for a great team.

Ashlee says:

'This was my first season as a manager – it was a huge test for me. I was given a whole new team which had not played an 11-a-side match before. I had a big task ahead of me. But not to worry, because this is what I enjoy doing. The first couple of games were not at all good and we were losing by some big margins but the team kept going. They were attending training regularly and the squad was getting bigger. Now we were starting to compete...

'We have not done that great in the league this season due to the fact that, at the beginning, we were going out with only 8 to 9 players. We made it to the cup semi finals where we lost 5-4 on penalties which was heartbreaking. Then, in a twist of fate, we were given a chance to play the U12 A in an exhibition final. It was a tight contest which we unfortunately lost 1-0. The players gave a really good account of themselves on this day and the hard work they had been putting in at training was clear for all to see.

'This season has been a learning curve for us all and I have seen all the players improve and also have a good time and make a new friend which is the most important thing. I would like to say a big thanks to all the parents for their support and a massive well done to all the players for their effort and their consistency. SO WELL DONE AND I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU NEXT SEASON!!!'

LIAN MORGAN says:

'My name is Lian and I have been working at Greenhouse Bethwin as a volunteer for about 3 months as an assistant coach. I have found that it can be very challenging but a lot of fun and I must be patient with them. I feel that I have a good enough relationship with most of the players and enjoy working with the Under 12s C. While I’ve been at Bethwin, I feel that I have learnt a lot and have become more confident and built up my communication skills. I feel that Bethwin has kept me occupied and off the streets and has given me an aim to work towards. I am enjoying myself and looking forward to my future at Bethwin.'
