Swimming Club cheers on the London Marathon runners
Thursday 06 May 2010
The Swimming Club had a family day out to watch the London Marathon on Sunday 25th April. A group of swimmers, staff, volunteers, parents and siblings travelled together to the Greenhouse supporter camp on Commercial Road near Limehouse.

From there they cheered on the 15 runners raising money for Greenhouse projects and also many more of the 36,000 entrants this year. Highlights included negotiating with local businessmen to get free whistles, eating ice cream, handing out jelly babies to the runners and seeing a 20-foot high giraffe running the course.
Thanks in particular to Multisports volunteer, Simon, for planning the day, and to the whole group for getting up early on Sunday to support Greenhouse in this way. Everyone had a really fun time and we are looking forward to visiting next year's event already!
Have a look at these great pictures from the day...
