Greenhouse cheers its way to victory
Wednesday 25 August 2010
A group of secondary school girls from key stage 3 and 4 at Swiss Cottage School have been training with a cheerleading coach since the beginning of this term and have managed to land themselves a spot in the Crystal Palace schools cheerleading competition.

The coaches at Swiss Cottage felt that entering the new squad into the event would be a great opportunity for the girls to be inspired, see another level of competition and have a better understanding of what to strive for in cheerleading as a sport.
On the day the girls were very excited and enjoyed getting made up with makeup and glitter to resemble elite cheerleaders. Throughout the day there were different schools performing and games being played. Lorely won a silver medal in the Jumps competition and Rebecca got to the semi finals in the Hula Hoop competition. Other teams came up to the girls and introduced themselves and gave the girls a card wishing them good luck which demonstrated great sportsmanship and mutual respect.
Swiss Cottage was the last team to perform and the girls were amazing, giving the audience an exciting exhibition of stunts. Persistent weekly training and an impressive routine earned them a standing ovation and a trophy in recognition of their achievements and all of their hard work.
