Two of our new SEN schools- Richard Cloudesley and Jack Taylor took part in their first Panathlon Central School Games Competition at the Westway Sports Centre in West London.

The day was a new pilot event funded by the British Paralympic Trust, 12 schools and 80 students took part in total.  The four sports selected by the new Government School Games were Boccia, Polybat, Table Cricket and New Age Kurling.

Coach Andrew Nyeko who is based at Richard Cloudesley School escorted four students to the event, they took part in Polybat and New Age Kurling. The students worked really hard and came 2nd place in Polybat and 3rd place in New Age Kurling, earning the team well deserved medals in both silver and bronze.

"The students really seemed to enjoy the day and appreciated the opportunity to compete in an externally organised sporting event against other schools, plus they all gained a real sense of fair play, good sportsmanship and the importance of taking part." says Andrew.

Seven students took part from Jack Taylor school and came 4th place in the Table Cricket competition. Coach Gabriel Odia who waorks at Jack Taylor commented, 'The tournament was a great opportunity for the students to try out new skills and meet new people, an event that both staff and students thoroughly enjoyed'.
