Another win for Greenhouse
Monday 20 July 2009
This time it was Conor Edwards at the Vale of Glamorgan Championships.
On the ball: Conor Edwards (left) winner of the U13, with Charlotte Carey (runner-up) and Stefan Jeczalik (winner of the U11’s)
The Tonypandy Community College student has been in great form in the past 3 months and that showed at this event. He lost at the recent Welsh U13 Championships at the semi stage, in which he showed his true class, and has been training with the Welsh squad in Cardiff for the past months.
Conor is also part of the ‘Loose your Body’ team which is top of the division 2 Rhondda Super League which is based at Ystrad Rhondda Sports Centre.
The Penygraig star will also get the opportunity to travel to the Royal Albert Hall with 100 other players to view 6 of the best players in the world with the Dunlop Masters, organised by the Greenhouse charity.
Charlotte Carey (middle of the photo) came close to a win but lost in the finals of both the U13’s and U15’s. Charlotte, who is from Tredegar, has been active in training with the Greenhouse squads regularly. Charlotte is number 1 in Wales for her age.
